I’m a 2nd year marketing associate at a boutique asset management firm in the NYC area. Base comp is near 100k currently, all in comp around ~110k. What are reasonable expectations for a raise/bonus as I come up on my annual review?

Hoping someone could advice on it. I recently accepted a job offer and it has been discussed and confirmed via email/phone that my starting salary is £26k and will raise to £28k after 6 months probationary period. Now, I have been sent the contract but there’s no specific statement about the £28k salary after probation.

It might be a stupid question but I am worried about raising this as an issue. Is this normal? Or is it better to ask for a revised contact with the specifics?

A couple of weeks ago I filed a default package, asking for 60k. Mind you, to get to this point, complaint was never answered, statement of damages was served, heard nothing, request for entry of default filed and served, heard nothing. But now, out of the blue, my firm gets a call from defendant’s attorney, asking us to stip to put aside default. Thoughts on how to proceed.... do I agree to stip? Or do I tell them to shove it just like they did to my clients complaint?

Spouse is a state department employee and currently overseas. I’m a manager with three years of experience in consulting and 8 years of experience in the military where I left as a O-3 (GS-12 equivalent). Does anybody else have clients that want to be “innovative” and “disruptive” but the second you share a really cool, insightful, big idea with them that’s on strategy they proceed to fumble like fools and just want to focus on basic block-and-tackle tactics and never actually do anything that’s innovative?

I’ve been dealing with this for years and I never understand why some clients sell themselves as disruptive when they’re scared to do anything daring or spend any money.

Thoughts on updating the manuscript once a piece is in layout? New agency I’m at insists on this but I struggle to see the point. Why would I update a word doc when the copy is right there in context? So far it’s been a massive time suck and I usually make a mistake anyways.
