Why Texas honestly, besides Austin the rest are just large metropolitan suburban cities with really nothing special
Unless u are taking ur kids to sea world skip San antonio. and replace Houston with Dallas.
San Antonio - recommend staying at the St Anthony (if Marriott) or Hotel Emma (if boutique), and spending time in the Pearl in the evenings - fun for adults and kids. Do one dinner on the river walk but anticipate lame food (more about the vibe).
All the buzz it but also kid friendly
Yeah I did a project in Houston. It's not worth visiting in and of itself. But we enjoyed the Space Centre, the zoo, baseball at Minute Maid Park, breakfast and brunch at Toot Suite, the endless superb meat at Fogo de Chao and the wagyu sushi at MF Sushi.
Agree with D1. I live in San Antonio and not a place I would visit unless I enjoyed Texas history, wanted to see the spurs, or was retired. There are some good wineries in the hill country though near Fredericksburg.
Saw your note about kid friendly. You’d probably want to stay near La Cantera mall, which is near Six Flags.
Agree Texas needs more destinations to improve tourism :) you could take a cruise out of Galveston and go somewhere good.
Are your kids old enough to like music? You’ll get plenty of that in Austin and ft worth. Are you going to visit family/friends. Or for warmth. Maybe it would be worth visiting for bbq.
I did a Texas road trip in December and I actually enjoyed my time.
in San Antonio check out the missions. The Alamo is a must.
Main cities in Texas are on my wishlist plus need to get away from the cold in Dec .... - have covered half of the states - want see major cities in all the 50 states 😁
Have been to Dallas for a trip business and seen a bit of the city.
Thank you everyone!
