3 would be extremely early and I can’t think of anyone in recent years who did that. I’d plan on 5-8, especially given that timelines have been getting longer AND you’ll need to build a network as an EH. I see people doing it in 4 now, but they’re outliers and have very strong networks and alignment across the practice.

OP: I agree with 101% with D3. If you are pinning your hopes on anything said during interviews then bear in mind that the interviewers are couched & trained to show you greener pastures without creating legal obligations to get you there once you land here.
If you're not female and not a person of color you have to be really good to even have a sporting chance in 5-8 years and that assumes you can build a good network of influence people

This is very wrong. It’s 5-8 minimum and a high likelihood that you will never make it. This is particularly true if you are not in a URM category. LSHC is currently one of the more imbalanced area at PMD. The Fed Health leaders, which sits within LSHC have flat out said that in order to meet the diversity targets the firm is setting they would have to fire over 100 PMDs. People coming will need to adjust their perception before truly considering any opportunity
