You can technically go into PTO debt, but you may need approval for it. I would discuss it with your career counselor when you join.
However, highly unlikely that it’s going to be an issue, unless we’re talking multiple weeks off.
I just joined Accenture a few months ago and had a week long vacation previously planned. As long as your hiring manager knows and project is cool with it, you’ll just be negative balance PTO for a few months
When I was hired I was allow to go on a negative PTO balance the second month I was there. I was trying to not start until after the vacation, but they were firm on start date and pre-approved the PTO before starting (which in retrospect, not a big deal, but it was reassuring)
You get "paid out" your PTO if you have it when you leave. I'd assume if you leave with a negative balance they will just subtract that amount from your final paycheck.
Sorry- asking the opposite. I have vacations planned for after I join ACN, but likely before I will have enough PTO there. Can I take vacation before accruing?
My colleague got unpaid time off for her trip that was planned pre acn.
And also note, ACN is implementing mandatory PTO for a few days between Christmas and NY. Though, a project can impact that- require more or less.
Just factor that in. If you are trying to calculate, consider you may be forced to take those days off and that comes out of your total PTO bank at the time.
Note this depends on state laws. Certain states can only be “encouraged” not forced to take pto
