Depends on where you land. Some teams have awesome culture and some are a nightmare.
Are you joining as a consultant or within business services? Feel free to pm if you want to chat further
Without knowing your vertical, a senior manager position is good to start in. Mobility within biz services can be harder (it all depends on openings and team budget), this is the same for bonus pools and salary increases at the end of year.
There a lot of positives to PwC, the culture is positive, lot of smart people employed by the firm, inclusive (it’s not performative allyship in my experience but others could have a different experience) but if you’re considering a pay cut (anything more than 10%) personally I wouldn’t because the compensation and upward mobility can really get strangled unless you’re desperate to get out of your current role.
Upward mobility in business services is generally pretty significantly slower than client facing (not sure where specifically you’re looking in BS). And the bonuses and salaries are a lot lower than client facing (although don’t equate a SM role in client facing to SM in BS in terms of experience).
Team based. Either it clicks or you split. You have more WFH options with PwC.
