I recently interviewed with MITRE for a systems engineering role to make the move from Leidos where I feel underpaid for the work I do and for my experience ($85K). I have 4 YOE, a STEM degree, and soon will have a Masters Degree. I’m looking to make around $120K in the new role at Mitre. Does anyone have any insight into comp there? This would be in the DC metro area. Does $120K seem reasonable or am I dreaming?

I’m in industry driving to office 5days a week and it’s still much better than Pwc and I was virtual there with a 3 min drive to office. Total hell hole
I talked with two people in the office who sat down with me and let me ask them a bunch of questions. It seems like a very laid back culture with a lot of flexibility. People come and go as they like, they prioritize family stuff, they take vacation often or even get to travel for long periods of time and just bring their laptop with them. You don't have to keep track of your hours, they just want you to stay on top of your work. The latest they ever stay at the office is like 6 and that's a rare occasion. The people I talked to have been there for a few years and seem to really like their work, the people, the flexibility, and the benefits. The hiring manager helped me get in contact with them and then let me talk to them for like an hour about anything I wanted. Then I got to talk to him. Seem like great people and a great culture. Am I missing anything important?
What do you want to do in 5 or 10 years? If this job is aligned with your career goal, then it is yes. But if you don't see yourself doing HWN type of work for the long run, you should look for something else. It is very niche or specialized so exit options may be limited. All the best.
Sounds like a great opportunity

You should take it! Just leave PwC on a good note and you’ll be able to come back whenever you want. Good luck!
After considering pivoting to external, this is the exact reason. I don't want to leave p. a.
