Unless you’re using R, Python and SQL daily, it’ll be tough and close to impossible. I’ve interviewed for business analyst roles where I wasn’t technically qualified enough. Most of the true data analyst roles are looking for data scientists
Yes, definitely, depending on the type of experience. There are big data opportunities at b4 and other consulting
Agreed with A1. If you’re currently on data visualization projects, that’s a step up. If you’re using SQL, R, Python, and/or SAS OR have good experiences with it, than it’s definitely/very possible to make the switch
Project exp so far has been BASIC data viz with tableau or Qlik, and analyzing data with SAS. Already know SQL foundationally, and taking python/stats online courses since I know that’s a improvement area for me. The biggest problem I’ve found is that most projects seem to, at the most, deal with a couple thousand rows of data and then mostly qualitative slides with insights gathered from internal papers, interviews, workshops rather than a database
OP your best bet is to exit to a business analyst role that’s more data visualization focused, then pivot to data analyst if you really want to.
