Hi Londoners ,
Moving in from outside UK.
Looking out for some areas in west / NW London where one can live with an infant on max 1400£ rental while requiring one partner to travel to Central occasionally for work and the other person 3 days a week to LHR.
Some Qns:
1) Will 1 Bedroom be too cramped for the infant to grow up? Should I raise budget?
2) I prefer being in family /childcare friendly areas. Had Harrow, Acton in mind . Are they good for my budget or any other suggestions?

They wouldn't interview if they didn't think you could do it. It's all about fit, so make sure you get along well with everyone.
Sell your unfamiliarity as an asset. Because they are taking a chance you are extra motivated to work hard. Also, we tend to become most invested when we are learning and navigating something new (read about and mention the "s curve of learning" to back this up).
Background: law is my second career, mostly do probate litigation and child welfare work/appeals for the State. First career - clinical social worker. This would be a huge shift and definitely outside my arena but I love the work I do for the Corp we represent and want to do more substantive business law - this job would be a dream. Clearly, I am not the best fit bc of my lack of direct experience but I know I could do the job and do it well.
