Pretty big day as NVDA beat earnings, sending everyone else higher. That company is worth so much money now it is insane. I wish I had worked for NVDA, some of their mid level management have got to be so loaded by now.

But jealousy aside, is it a red flag that NVDA is carrying the US Stock Market with them?

Arguably yes… but it seems like the market is on board at least for now…

like

It can happen that fast… 😂… that’s the thing about the market and why trying to time it almost never works (unless your on both sides of the trade)… institutions make up 90% of the trading volume on a daily basis, one move by Vanguard or Fidelity or similar, or one OpEd can reorient the market within the same trading session…

Congrats to the insiders who made millions. Imagine being an early employee there. Absolutely life changing sums of money.

Ugh I knowwww

I'd say so. It's a red flag whenever a single company can move the market like that. Very jealous of everyone who works there. There's a crazy stat floating around about the % of NVDA employees who have become millionaires through stock alone. Must be nice...

like

I think I heard about that stat. Lucky ducks!

You get rich very quick but at the expense of any life/work balance. My partner works there and 60-70 hours is expected. Not for everyone

I don't like working here at all, but I am not sure whether moving out again in a month will give bad Impression on my resume. Hence please give me advice on this situation

There is this big bank where I'd love to work at, and after several interviews for various positions they end up promoting someone from within, even thou I understand it and think it’s good they promote their people, it left me feeling like I'm just being used to comply with the process.

Thoughts on Citi's Leveraged Portfolio Group at the Analyst level? I'm curious if anyone has additional details on the group for an Analyst spot. What does the group focus on in terms of work, what are hours like, decent exit Ops, interview process etc? I'm currently an Analyst in an industry specific Corporate Banking group at a competitor of Citi so I have experience underwriting HY transactions and portfolio management.

Hey all! I have an interview with
Deloitte in Regulatory Risk and more precisely in their Investment Management Services team. I would like to know if anyone
knows what the job entails exactly. I keep hearing about people "fooled" into taking a job in risk advisory thinking it'll really be advisory while they only end up doing IT and Audit support (which I do not want to do).
Is it the case here?
Thanks!

Need career advice. Trying to break into a finance role, preferably an Analsyt role but I have no transferable experience. I worked as a mortgage loan officer (which is sales) for 2 years after college, but since mortgage is such a niche industry, no hard skills transfer and have no relevant undergrad internships unfortunately. I know I can essentially get any sales job I want in finance IE: financial advisor etc. but don’t want to be stuck in sales forever. Any advice?

I need help figuring out if I’m being underpaid. I’m working in real estate private equity and I focus on fund models and property valuations. I’m currently at base $80k and 20% bonus. On top of that I have 5 years experience and a masters in finance. I’m good at my job and receive positive reviews from everyone. I feel like I should be compensated better but the company says that’s what they think I’m worth. Any help or insights would be great!
