They are probably warming up for their MBD interviews.
"Not cut out for it" - that's one of the most BCG quotes I have read on here haha
I imagine OP is implying that an interviewee did very poorly (Sad!) on a case is advising 🐠 that interview at BCG to prepare and practice live cases.
Burn! ^ nice touch on the MBD
Did someone you interviewed say that?
What happened?
My first case was BCG, and I recommend recruits not to do more than 5. Easier to read intelligence vs a good caser
Recruit probably did poorly and wasted your time, but also probably not cut out for it
Person did really poorly in the case and then went on to explain it was the first one ever. So just recommending a different strategy to improve chances of success.
@BCG1 hope that's to associates. <5 for an MBA is just poor planning.
@C1 - you'll often hear also "doesn't have the intellectual horsepower "
My first case was the day of the interview... but then, it was in Europe so I wasn't being compared to 10 other peeps who had spent their whole year going to "consulting club" to prep for interviews.
I wouldn't recommend not practicing but, similar to @b1, I don't think there's so much value at practicing over and over again.
You simply need to have a general sense of what's expected for those, a few ideas on how to solve various types of problems. For the rest, it'll be your natural smarts/creativity/communication that'll need to kick in
Yeah Europe is an entirely different animal
