Cyber is under advisory. Pay tend to be lower than consulting but cyber is higher than the advisory average so it's somewhere in the middle. That being said, I feel like we work way less hours than consulting. It depends on specialty but most people I work with in cyber do ~45 hr/wk with a few busy weeks a year tossed in. No complaints on the people, environment, etc.
Big 4 cyber is going to be more alike than different though when compared to dedicated companies and boutiques.
Cyber is way more chill than anything you’ll find in consulting or other offerings, imo. Plenty of variety to work on what you might be interested in if you don’t land in a group you love right off the bat. This flexibility changes with the market of course, much easier to be selective when we have more work :)
I'll add that the Deloitte cyber practice is the most robust in the business. Anything you want to do, you can find a team that does it. Biggest con is that consulting can take 2 weeks PTO without affecting their utilization calculation, whereas in advisory all PTO negatively affects util
There's really not much difference between the two these days, not enough to effect a decision anyway. No one outside of B4 even realize that there's a difference.
I used to work there and cyber is under advisory but they get paid like consulting. Or at least in my experience. I never found a difference between advisory / consulting at least nothing that affected me
