Yay x10, it’s about damn time lol nothing more humiliating than finding out you make less than someone else with the same job / experience
For sure. Happened to me - I was one of the highest performers and found out I was one of the most underpaid. I just lost faith in the agency and left. They tried to retain me with a huge raise on the spot but I reached a point of no return.
Part of me doesn’t even want to know how overpaid my creative directors are
But that’s you soon

Great idea if you can implement it, and you're hiring skilled people for skilled work (think FAANG), or unskilled people for unskilled work (think QSR).
A lot of agencies hire unskilled (junior) people for skilled work tho, so probably wouldn't be comfortable sharing that that $200+ rate is staffed predominantly of $30/hr employees.
That makes sense!
Rising Star
A friend of mine recently discovered they were making 80k less than me for the same job title. Usually I’m a “you get what you negotiate” type, but that disparity was bulllllllshit.

They were at the place for a while. I came in later from a larger market with awards and agency cred.
Publishing salary bands for roles would be a good thing because it would help people make informed decisions
Absolute yay. Hiding lay hands has historically harmed women (particularly parents) and people of colour. Pay transparency is essential.
They do it at my agency too though I have heard instances of exceptions which makes me 🤔
Btw if your co is public they do that bc it’s required by the SEC (specifically exec salaries)
This assumes that everyone at the same level contributes the same, which we all know doesn’t happen. If I’m doing more, I expect to be compensated more.
Yes correct AD1! The bands can have 80k differences (or less or more depending on the seniority), eg 170-250k
And CD1 exactly, it’s about the transparency and some willingness to apply logic.

Do you work for Gravity payments?
Ah no!
