Ask for as much as you can!!!

like

My general rule of thumb is 70k + 10k for YOE for par. Doesn’t seem too far off to me.

That’s exactly how much I’m making 🤯

Yes, unless you’re an opportunity hire and are bringing some revenue with you or something. 8 years in, you should be tracking towards senior manager to command that pay.

like

D2 you are correct. MD1 may have been thinking Strategy& when he said that? Unsure. At PwC, a post-MBA advisory manager makes slightly more than $170k. A Strategy& manager makes a little over $180k but with a far higher bonus target than advisory

like

Manager salary tops out around like $150ish in a tier 1 city without MBA. 170ish is like a second year M with MBA.

170 is above second year SM.

The numbers aren’t in your favor but who knows how it would play out.

like

8 years of consulting experience in the area you’re joining, or 8 years of work experience including industry. I was a manager making 130k a year at pwc when I left and had 4 years of industry experience and 5 years consulting. I agree that you can command a premium if you have more consulting experience and can bring some business with you.

helpful

8 years consulting in other big 4

157 is the top of the non MBA Manager band for tier 1 cities for tech consulting

$200k would get you a 15 year senior manager from one of a few Big 4, I’d take that all day over an overpaid manager. Or two seniors. 😂🤣😂

Industry needs big project people as much as they need doers of daily tasks. Find the right industry fit if you’re going private. Make every career move count - and I don’t mean dollars.

What type of advisory

Which city?

Hey OP, what did you end up asking and getting? In a similar boat.

Can you please mention, How much approximately you finally got if you are okay to share.

Hi - I'm looking for a referral for a family member in the LA/Orange County. Relative is a permanent resident (has been for 10+ years) and looking to apply for citizenship. Relative had a juvenile record which was expunged ( I think it matters for citizenship). They had this record before they applied for their permanent residency. Now looking to an attorney with immigration & crim experience. Thank you!

I am a personal injury attorney making 79k with ability to keep 40% of anything I settle, bonuses for originating work for the firm. I am 1.5 years into practicing as a Plaintiffs PI attorney - I have a review coming up - suggestions on what I should ask for as a raise. I’ve settled a couple cases and working on a third settlement. I’m new to the practice area but cannot get a read on whether a raise is coming at review - nothing but positive feedback from both partners I work with, but doesn’t

Hi Sharks
I am 25 years old with in hand salary of 1L(just from last month) and i want to buy a term insurance plan. My questions are:
1. Is it wise to take 2 plans of term insurance one with return of 60 years and another without return of 80 years of each 1cr.
2. Is it wise to include health riders in insurance plan to claim for 80d or just chose health insu
3. How much one can ideally shell out for insurance per month (both term and health) for self in terms of percentage of monthly income.

At KPMG, was going to go up for M last year but it would have been a tad early (only 2.5 years at senior) so I decided to push it back to this year. This year, after talking about my business case since last summer, I was now just told I won’t even be given the opportunity to go up for M at all, with very weak reasoning. I pour a lot of time and effort into my job and this felt like a true sand banging. Has this happened to anyone else? Is it firm being cheap w/ the current economy? TIA.

I currently work as an APM at a FAANG company but recently received an offer to join an MBB. I’m very excited about the role but didn’t realize I’d need to take a pay cut when I applied (~100k base + ~20k bonus + ~60k equity vs. 90k base + 10-20k bonus). Considering that I currently work 40-60 hours/week, I’ll be making significantly less per hour at the MBB. I’m very interested in the opportunity but also don’t want to make a poor financial decision early in my career. Thank you for your time!
