Question: recruiter asked me if I’m actively interviewing with other firms atm and whether I would consider a counter offer from EY if I was offered a job with the new employer. What’s their intention in this? Does saying that I would not accept counter offer make me less desirable?

Accepting an offer in IBD, lateraling over from consulting. Opportunity of a lifetime for me so don’t want to lose it.
But timing is horrible. I joined the Army Reserves before this opportunity was on my radar. Interviewed over several months, got the offer, but shipping out in 1 month for training for 6 months.
