I’ve had my eye on a “Delivery Transformation Change and Communications Consultant” position at Deloitte. Does anyone work here that could give some insight into this position/department or one like it? And is there anyone who has worked in marketing and shifted to communications/consulting…what are your thoughts on a career shift?

1. We’ll, sometimes you have to step outside your domain at smaller companies. If you can make it clear that you are temporarily going above and beyond, and covering for their inability to properly staff, and can have assurances that someone will be hired to take those one, it could be a good thing. No designer is an island, and ux is a company wide thing.
2. Is it possible to switch teams/supervisors? Can you talk to your skip manager about the issues? If no one makes an effort to improves after you stated your case, then yeah, start looking. And have a well thought out answer if you are asked why you are looking for a new role. It’s a tricky balance to not come across as a ‘difficult’ person to work with. Maybe frame it as positively as you can, outlining the professional things you want to focus and grow in a new role, mentioning briefly that at your current one it is not possible to achieve them, leaving the infuriating part out of it.
