Questions, curiosity and seeking answers.
I applied, interviewed and was offered a position with a great company. Offer letter received and signed by me and sent back to the company.
Relocation assistance was offered but comes on my first paycheck. Is this normal?
Since I am relocating I am looking to rent for the time being. Rental companies request confirmation of employment. I was just told by the company they don’t provide me with a signed copy.
Is this a red flag or is it just me?

The company won’t provide you with a signed copy of your employment offer/letter? That’s odd. I don’t know that I’d relocate for an offer that hasn’t actually been signed by the company. Will the rental company accept items from your current/past employer (paystubs, W2, etc?) in lieu of that? As for the relocation assistance being paid with the first check, that’s standard.

Thank you for your input. I completely agree and it’s definitely a red flag.

I would be cautious but not alarmed. I have seen relocation handled this way before. I would just make sure everything is clearly documented.

I have been working as a data scientist since 2018 & have been the bread winner. I have neither been under a proper mentor nor with a team of peers from my field to help me out. I was alone and confused. I have never really got the chance to prove myself which makes me all the more depressed. I'm not sure what to do with my future, indecisive and low on confidence.

I just started with a company as an HR Generalist. Within the 3 weeks of being there, my boss’s boss left, and today I found out my boss gave notice. HR is not valued at the company and it’s disheartening to know I was hired into a mess. I am now actively looking but how do I explain to other employers why I am actively looking and what do I put on my resume? I have never had to deal with this before.
