I want to share very bad experience I had at Mastercard
I was given offer by Mastercard in month of Dec The hike was less but looking at brand & other perks I accepted the offer & was looking forward to joining them.I got few offers & I went back to them for sole purpose of renegotiating CTC, to have a industry standard hike. They didn't reverted back for 2-3 days & just dropped a mail that they are revoking initial offer as well on grounds that they didn't like i gave other interview

I’ve dealt with VP’s who manage fewer people, have a smaller budget, and less scope then a manager at a different company.
Titles are titles and that’s it. Look for responsibility and growth opportunities And of course cash...
I did it two months ago. From manager to sr accountant. So far my work load is not crazy at all (40-45h) and the team I joined is very good. I’ve heard some terrible teams (especially in aws) but also people here move teams like every 2 years on average. I’d take it because it’s a good raise. And I’m assuming upward mobility is there if people are moving around this much internally. The culture is certainly intense, as I’m sure you learned about those crazy leadership principles, but it’s nothing compared to the toxic culture at big four. At least they don’t work you to death and call it a good learning opportunity with no raise.
What has been your experience so far?
Don't expect your title to transfer in industry. You're doing a different job with a different skill set than you are in public
I wouldn’t work for Amazon, but I think the title drop isn’t bad enough to outweigh that raise.
Agree with SC2. I heard it's a cutthroat culture. Easy to get to Amazon, not to survive. Last year I had an Amazon offer moving to the same level (Manager to Manager) while on paper it looked amazing, first I would have needed to relocate to Seattle, so part of the raise goes away with the increased housing cost. Second that cutthroat culture is not for me. I prefer to work crazy hours with a team that has by back. However, if you are willing to take the risk, go ahead. It all boils down to what is your preference and your long term goal.

If you're at $120k now you could immediately get $42k more. This year. Do not pass on that.
With how quickly Amazon is growing I would assume there is a lot of potential for promotions so I would jump ship as long as you don’t have to move to the west coast.
I would not be required to relocate. I would be working 5 minutes from where I currently live at HQ2 in Virginia
Don’t look at titles. I’ve routinely dealt with “managers” at $15B+ companies who really are the cfo or coo.
No.. it’s hard to move up in industry and it would take forever to move from a senior role back into a management role
I went into industry as a senior accountant and quit for a manager tile at another company a year later

Depends on what you want to do. Moving from advisory to accountant in industry seems like a step down. If it were me I’d consider other consulting exit ops but if you’re interested in the job description and it checks all your boxes that’s great.
