I think it must depend upon where they are sending on-site and for how much time period.
Option 2
Actually in IT there is no bigger trap than "wait we are sending you onsite" so as per my experience never ever make any decision considering onsite as a parameter even if ur visa is done still..
Note , I am not blaming your manger/management it is what it is .
