Quick vent: fiancé and I were going to put an offer in on an apartment we loved before all of this Covid stuff happened but changed that plan to rent to buy starting Aug to be safer. The sellers just told us they accepted someone else’s offer to buy. We, especially me, were in love with the apartment but we were too risk adverse to buy now bc if Covid and fiancé working at a startup that had layoffs in the beginning. Just sad bc we’ve been looking for two years and this was the perfect place.

I guess it wasn’t meant to be and I just have to keep faith and hope that we were meant for something better 🙏🏼

Sorry to hear that, but you’ll find another one!

Wait a little bit until the housing market drops and then you’ll be able to get an even better place for the same price!!!

like

You will find another one when the time is right, don’t rush to buy right now.

like

You’ll find something better and see why those fell through! Good luck!!

I’m sorry OP. If it makes you feel better, housing prices in major markets are through the roof right now - my parent are trying to buy and it’s been a nightmare. Not sure how much cost factors into your decision but hopefully that’s comforting?

The right apt will come in the future ❤️

M2 that makes me die inside.... I’ll just rent forever and get a sick car...

Maybe the seller wants to sell because of the chance prices could drop. You could also get a better deal in a year

Thank you all for your thoughts and kind words. I know this does not compare to a lot of the realer and more pertinent issues going on but I appreciate this community for letting me be heard. Still a little down but won’t give up hope 💕😊

You made the right decision. It was too risky at the time.

Keep checking the building, I’m sure other units will open up.

If the timing isnt right, its not the right place for you.

Chin up... we almost bought in march but decided not to due to covid. In april a perfect-for-us house came on the market, another offer fell through due to covid, we considered and found out seller really needed to move and liked us a lot on paper. We put in an offer, did inspection, and are in close process AND got the house for 10%below market value.

So it might work out for you too!

like

Wow this gives me hope!! I’m so happy it worked out for you guys, best of luck making your house your perfect home 😊

Where do you find a rent to own place? I have never seen these.

You bet! Good luck in finding your perfect place!!

I have accepted EY IN Offer.
Now I am getting calls from EY GDS for interviews.

I am not sure if u should attend the interview or not at GDS.
When I shared this scenario with my EY IN HR, she said please don't attend it may create conflict and you may also get blacklisted.

EY GDS HR is like, you can attend the interview, there's no problem at all. We don't have such a policy. Please suggest what decision I should make.
