Why do some of you'll want to work for MBB consulting firms? Are they really that much more lucrative/interesting than GS or JPM?

Are PE associates typically let go after 2 years to go to bschool at the large funds? How often are associates promoted straight to VP?

Currently I m having 6 YOE, I have experience in API development, consulting and devops, I am currently pursuing an advanced cybersecurity 9 month certification with Upgrad, it covers information, network and application security. I would like to shift my career to application penetration testing, please let me know the steps to follow for a smooth transition. Please advise on topics to have hands on, global certification and also on job search.

CFP & ChFC looking to change firms. Currently in a bank program, but not a large portable book to bring over to the next firm. Over a decade experience and about to finish up my MBA. Currently nowhere near the income level I want to be. Any suggestions for a good program to go to for my next move?

2 years break -full time MBa from tier 3 (alliance university)
3rd company - trimax IT infrastructure (17months) left due to late salaries
4th company - accenture ( 4.2 years )

Has anyone ever transitioned out of physiotherapy as a career? It may or may not be pandemic related, but 3 years in I’m burned out and curious about other options

I’ve been at a job for a few months and hate it - partners set unrealistic deadlines, micromanage, and create work that truly is not necessary/push urgency when there is no real urgency. I had other offers prior to accepting this job that may still be options, and going back to my old job (for a pay cut) might also be an option. I can’t tell if this is just burnout, growing pains, or just an untenable work environment. Would you ride it out for a year at new job or pursue other options? HELP!

General corporate in NY looking to lateral into tech transactions at one of the EC/VC firms. I’ve heard that I may get a class cut if I make the move but I’m ok with that. My worry is that EC/VC firms are crazy busy work differently from general corp, I also won’t have control over my hours, and potentially worse based on how billing differs (block billing on a few clients vs having to work with 15 or more startups). Is the same true for tech trans or IP group?

At what point does the value of a degree fall off? I'm in my early 30s, and have five years of experience, and work on a very theoretically interesting project. I believe I'm on track to promotion in the next year. So, I could put in a year of full time school to check the box off, but I'd be sacrificing hobbies and social life (not to mention cost). Is this FOMO or is there real opportunity here?
