Is Google the end game?
I’m considering leaving Google to go work at a startup, I’m wondering if things don’t work out how easy it’d be to come back to Google. I’d love to hear from people who returned to Google how the process was. Does the company value your previous tenure at Google, or do they treat you like any external candidate who never worked at Google before?

$210K base? Hell, that’s mos def max at L5, it’s actually L6 range. Assuming it’s for VHCOL.
Take it and run, if you want to join. You can try negotiating stock to $200K.
congrats OP! Do you mind talking or sharing a resume that helped you get past the screening?
What’s your total YOE? 280k max range for L5 seems low
Pretty solid for L5 non tech roles.
May i what kind of job/postion it is if not Consultant? I know ow you mentioned service and ops S&O but I couldn't figure out the postion/job title
Yup
Your stock is low, but base is about as high as it will go. Keep in mind you will see ~100K / yr refreshers + any benefits from stock appreciation, so comp can ramp rapidly from here, even at same level
Depends on how many you are granted, but typically 4 yr, no cliff, monthly vest
A few things to keep in mind -
1. You're probably at the 95+ percentile of the L5 band. This means your base will stay flat next year unless you're in the top 20%.
2. Equity is now front loaded so the most you make will be in year 1 and it will either stay flat or increase marginally in years 2 and 3. So make your decision wisely
3. L5 for a SC is a good level to come in at if you're really looking to get out of consulting. I was a PL/Manager when I came in at 5 a few years ago (consulting salaries hadn't sky rocketed then so my comp stayed flat). If $ is your motivation, Google doesn't pay top of market - you're better of exploring other tech peers
