Deb and DPw are 1% chance of making partner as lateral (if it wasn’t for someone here waiting to prove me wrong with like 3 examples in the last 15 years, I’d say 0%). Both firms are highly prejudice towards laterals.
Latham - assuming you’re ready to bill 2800 and play the game and go all out. Then and only then, maybe like a 15-20% chance? Still an uphill battle, but it’s possible.
I consider myself one the top recruiters in NYC for corporate. My niche is moving folks from one v10 to another in those cases where for whatever reason the chips didn’t fall their way. And for people who want to make partner, we always strike DPW, Debevoise, Skadden and Simpson from the list.
Latham M&A is toxic and overall does a poor job integrating laterals.

LW or DPW. I’d lean LW, but both good choices.
You get both band 1 and a much bigger network. LW is more generally well known outside of the legal industry.
Avoid Deb M&A - it's a sinking ship.
Also the most miserable place to be a lateral of all time
