I bombed a question in my interview! Feeling horrid
Hi Fishes,
Does Deloitte USI have any cool down period, if you apply and do not get any response from the company? I had previously applied in a role, but didn't hear back from them. So, I'm planning to try to apply via referral this time and I'm wondering if I should use the same e-mail ID or a different one! Deloitte USI

Received an offer as Engagement Director from Salesforce (CSG, pre sales, L9). Great benefits package, 40% increase in total comp and better WLB.
I do love the people in my practice and current client, but career trajectory has stalled after taking parental leave earlier this year and (yet another) change in leadership.
Realistically, making to Director is 2-3 years away and will require sacrificing time with my family that I am not prepared to give up.
Should I stay or should I go?

Go as fast as you can.
Graduated college, had my first job for 5 months and left. If you have a good reason to leave you have a good reason to leave.
Not everyone will fault you for leaving and look I still work at a big consulting firm. It's about how you sell yourself
Start networking. While four months into a job is too soon, if you can show progression e.g., by moving to a firm with better brand recognition and stay there for a few years you will be fine as you will not appear as a job hopper,
Leaving early once is fine, no good employer will mind someone switching jobs a single time right out of school if it's not the right fit for them.
Just don't make a pattern of it. Then the common denominator becomes you.
To elaborate: The big red flag is that I’m expected to sell work as a 22 year old. We essentially have quotas on LinkedIn/email messages and meetings with potential clients. I have quickly exhausted my network and I fear it will damage my reputation and social capital. This was not communicated in the recruiting process and is not a typical expectation of analysts in other firms. I would apply for entry level data analyst/business analyst/tech consulting roles.
I would float your resume and if you get a better opportunity then go. It’s easier to explain going to a larger company and better opportunity without having to share the items above. Just make sure when you go, you stay at the next op for a while to help rehabilitate the resume.
Was it not clearly advertised as a bdr role?
@IBM 1 - No it was never mentioned in the job description or interview process. I’m currently staffed doing PMO on a software implementation at a F500 company. All my colleagues come from ACN/Deloitte/IBM etc so it all seemed legitimate. It’s just that on top of billable work there’s a huge pressure to message prospects, set up meetings and bring the higher ups along. It’s all “voluntary” of course but is a huge factor in your performance review and bonus, and if you don’t meet the goals they “challenged” you with, you basically get called out by name on an email.
Same situation here OP but only been in the role for a month. Entire time is spent working on ‘ambitious’ pitch decks which makes me think the firm has no currency in the market despite the wider brand of the firm being strong.
