Why is even this a question here ?? People are here to improve ,,cant or don't share such pessimistic things like recession,here you can very well visit quora ,,
I was hoping people from 2007-2009 work experience could provide some guidance.
Recession is a term to be feared for sure, no doubt in that.
But my friend, India is a place where foreign MNCs want to setup their offshore corporate offices coz of the cheap labour. Many foreign MNC are looking forward to setting up their businesses in India asap possibly to cut off their local Operating expenses.
Recession may strike, but India seems to be lil' safe this time.
So my friend, there is nothing to worry for now coz there is nothing much we can do.
Let it rain, but one should be ready with an umbrella. ✌🏻

So is it a bad thing to get understanding on this topic and be prepared ( better prepared)? People can bloster about Salaries offers etc but we should not ask simple questions like these??

We can see Oracle layed off some number of employees last week and planning to do so in India as well.
my batch was 2009 passed out.. recession was coming to an end.. many people got placed on campus interviews.. I was one of them.. but once I got passed out and waited for the joining letter they didn't release it..
outside situation don't even ask.. hundreds of thousands of students used to come off-campus.. one memory I remember is we broke one of the reputed company's front entrance glass and they had to call the police to control the students.. gosh those days..
Any 2007-2009 work experience people on Fishbowl??
Thing is it was not as worse as the media states ,from stock and share market wise it was worse but things started getting normal and hiring started after 12 months in India since most companies prefered cheap labour first came to India which did turn into our favour in after years ,so skill yourself ,even if someone loses it may very well be 12 to 20 months with which we need to hold on ,and we can get into job ,, because after every dip there is a raise ,so don't think too much ,,any where road accidents happen,, doesn't make us sit at home ,,same applies here make sure we should reskill ourself aptly
