If getting into FAANG has always been a goal of yours, I wouldn't just throw it all away because you need a break. Instead, I'd look into other resources that could help you work through your issues, and maybe take a little time off to refresh/reboot. What about taking every Friday off for awhile and using your long weekends to do whatever it is that relaxes you and helps you recharge? That way it wouldn't be all at once and then over in a week or two, but instead a long term strategy to focus on improving your wellness without giving up your career aspirations. Good luck!
How long have you been at the company? I know its rough, but I think you might regret it when you're in a better mindset. Talk to your manager about maybe taking some time off, get counseling to help you cope if there is something else going on, even go PT or take a sabbatical as a last resort after talking through with your manager or HR. Try everything else you can first before sacrificing this - you've worked so hard to get there : )
I’ve only been here 3.5 months I think it’s to early to take leave
It is never a bad idea to put yourself first. Take the time you need to rejuvinate. I swear, things turn out right when you feel good physically, mentally, and emotionally.
If you feel like it's too much and you need that break, it's better to listen to your body and mind now. If you don't, then you may be paying for it years with your mental and physical health. I've been there, and it's not worth it!
Can you request a LOA?
I’m pretty early in and just finished onboarding. I think might be to early to ask for LOA
Don't be hard on yourself. I think you really need a break this time and figure out what you really want to do. You deserve to focus on yourself this time since you have been working for years. Can't you take a LOA?
Quitting would be akin to finding a permanent resolution for a temporary problem. Take a two week vacation and actually unplug. Spend it with people you love and/or doing things that make you feel relaxed. You’ll be amazed what this will do for you coming back to the regular grind. Dropping a dream job due to burn out sounds like something you might regret when in a better headspace.
Never feel guilty for choosing what's best for you. It would be an even bigger waste of your skills if you're not able to inflict your best into what you do because you don't feel the same energy towards it anymore. Take a breather. You'll thank yourself for it in the long run.
