Retooled and took a dramatic class year haircut. How to make sure I don’t overstep my new seniority or lack thereof? The QOL and comp are fine for me and I love the work. I just have caught myself being maybe a little too comfortable and want to make sure I’m not giving off entitled vibes when I know I have a lot to learn in my new position.

I have the option to leave Biglaw for in-house position at Fortune 100 for 320k TC with 10 YOE in HCOLC. This is my first in-house role and so I wanted others' thoughts on TC range for my level.

Stub here with 3 months in. I work in litigation for a AM100 regional office. No issues with hours yet (45% over target) but just learned a 2nd and 3rd year missed their hours goal this year. Should I seek out projects from the transactional team during slow periods to ensure I hit billable, or is that frowned on?

Learned an interesting lesson today: don’t mention wanting to go into government at some point in the future in a biglaw job interview. Had a callback where I mentioned a desire to be an AUSA. They passed on my candidacy apparently because of it.

People who don’t submit their time daily, how do you remember what you did and for how long? I’ve always just submitted each timer as soon as I finish a task—“call with x re y” really doesn’t take that long even if I’m busy, and if I don’t do it immediately I’ll forget all those little I did in the morning by the time I go to bed. I hate Kirkland for what they did to me.
