Salary check please. Work in a small plaintiff class action litigation firm in a HCOL area specializing in antitrust and consumer protection. Strict 1800 billable hour requirement and my salary is 155k. However, I just found out I am being billed at $650/hour. Considering the conventional 1/3 method or there about, shouldn’t my salary be closer to $250-350k? Or my billable requirement should be closer to 1200? Am I crazy?

Are private equity operating roles considered respectable and prestigious in the buy-side space? What does the compensation look like for an associate at a LMM firm?

Accounting advisory big4 or IA at F100. Both senior roles. Roughly same base pay.

Big4 has clear trajectory and interesting work.

F100 has 14% bonus, perm remote, and immediate vesting 401k over 7%.

What would you take?

Last tech + managerial round was on 10th Nov. Got HR call on 17th Nov. Told my expected package and she didn't seem to have any issue. On 22nd Nov, got a call from the consultant at taggd who has been arranging all my interviews. Told my expected CTC and she seemed a bit surprised but didn't negotiate and asked if I have any other offers? I asked when can I expected the OL, she said within a week but didn't take any documents. Can I expect the OL?

Any general anecdotes about moving from a market-paying law firm to government? What was the experience like? Any regrets? How bad did the pay cut sting?

Whenever I got promoted to digital ACD a few years ago, I noticed my pay was much lower than I expected for the market I’m in, hard to find skillsets, performance, and visibility I’ve brought to the agency. How normal is it to be pulled off a trial team because you tell your boss you are moving after trial? I have a trial coming up first week of Oct. This case has been my baby, and I’m going to try it with my boss. I tell my boss up front that, for family reasons, I’ve gotten a new job and will be moving to another city two weeks after trial will likely end. He then gives my trial witnesses to another attorney, but is still going to make me do grunt work. Is he unreasonable or am I?
