Control + S while in the Skype convo. It’ll save the convo in your email automatically

like

Screenshots. Or you know... Copy/paste. The firms specifically don't allow automatic saving because everything saved (including your screenshots) are discoverable when the firm is sued.

like

Technically you're not asking anything so

like

Is there a way to save my IM conversations on Skype so that they will all reappear after I restart my laptop? I'm talking about having then reappear in the Skype interface, I'm not talking about saving conversation history to Outlook.

like

Um, in case you were having a conversation with a manager/partner and wanted to reference something, for example. I'm not asking why I would save them, I'm asking if there's a way to save them.

like

Why can’t you just save them to outlook..?

uplifting

Copy and paste bro

like

Put your laptop to sleep instead of turning it off... it doesn’t close your convos

like

Why don’t you just ask your IT department instead of a bunch of zoned out tired accountants in the middle of a busy season?

like

Uhhhhh if your laptop freezes, you're screwed no matter what. Why you trying to narc?

like

It is a significant security risk to put your laptop to sleep instead of turning it off. When you turn your computer off they encrypt everything on the hard drive. This doesn't happen when you put it to sleep. Laptops get stolen all the time. One of the very most popular things to steal. If stolen when turned off, literally 0 chance they're getting your data. If put to sleep, if they want it they're going to get it.

like

mine are saved by default

like

Why should we save them

Senior Audit 1, I was talking about a situation where you had to restart because your laptop froze or something.

This is why all staff are treated as narcs

1. I’m a pandemic hire at this new agency and I like it enough, but I feel SO detached from all these humans I’ve never interacted with IRL… like, I just don’t give a flying fuck about these team-building zoom calls. :(

2. My boyfriend and I often just go off cam / mute during the more useless meetings and have sex instead. I secretly hope everyone who is muted/cam off in meetings is getting some action.

Anyone else going in big on pton soon? Zoom and TDOC too. Lots of 2020 high flyers on sale now - been waiting for this. 200% gain just for Pton to recover.

I have to believe this is the fate for a lot of 2021 high flyers by this time next year, but we will see.

Deloitte USI is offering me a role as an Analyst despite having 3+ years experience. Though they have offered me a decent salary (lowballed me a bit, offered me 9.8 lpa fixed which is a bit less than market standards) but I am hesitant to join at a position lower than my experience seeing that it would take more than a year to be promoted to a consultant level.
Should I join at a lower position and how will it affect my career in the long run?

Working in public for three+ years I am starting to rethink my future. I am a firm believer in “paying my dues” into a career, but when I look at the “tone at the top” I can’t possibly imagine how anyone would WANT to stay. The idea of working 50+ hours a week for the rest of my profession. My quality of life sucks right now. At this point I would happily take a pay cut to work less, but do enjoy aspects of public. Someone please convince me it gets better and it is worth it to stay.

Asking this for my husband who works at E&Y. Apparently EY has this policy that you need to be employed by EY for at least 12 months to be qualified for the 16 weeks paternity leave. My husband joined EY on 4/6/2020 and our baby is due 3/26/2021, which makes him only a few days short to be eligible for the 16 weeks paternity leave benefit.
