I've become really jaded about consulting. I find all so often you need to tell the client what they want to hear to keep their business and I feel like so much of the what I recommend doesn't actually get implemented. I'm looking to make a career switch so I can both create and execute on my strategies. A product management path seems very promising for this.

I was hired within the last year as a site supervisor. I did well my first few projects with the company. They asked if I’d be interested in transitioning into a construction manager role. I agreed. Now I still am the site supervisor on projects but I’m also doing all the construction manger duties on the project as well. Essentially 2 jobs for one salary. We have yearly reviews in December but no talks of raise have been discussed. Any help on approaching this to my boss?

I’m an FA at ML, been in the role for 1 year and 8 months, but have 23 years of industry experience. Quarterly, I have a performance review call with my Market Executive and until today never heard anything negative… my growth is slower than I’d like and definitely I’m sure that’s why, but today he said last time “they” wanted to give me a letter of education and he talked “them” out of it. Hey everyone - I could do with some advice. Not sure what I am doing wrong, but I am having a hard time getting interview calls. Detour or shortcut, my goal is to be in strategy consulting. Is it better to just wait for a couple more years and then go directly into strategy consulting? Are IT DD and ODD experience viewed favourably by strategy consultants?
