I haven't, but it's because I'm comfortable where I'm at in SaaS consulting. I've heard great things about benefit consulting, but I'm not particularly keen on having to relearn anything. Interested to see what others have to say.
I didn’t come from Saas but can speak to being in employee benefits. It is definitely a lucrative industry if you are with the right firm and have the right mindset. You will need to be comfortable with networking and leveraging that network to bring in new business. I would recommend looking into the big 4 in this space and seeing if any of the roles would be a good fit (Mercer, Marsh, Willis Towers Watson, and Gallagher).
As for revenue that’s correct. Most firms pay between 20-40% for a sale in the first year you have the business. After the first year they usually pay between 10-20%. If you’re interested in more information I’d be happy to connect.
