On my previous contract, I was a one person shop; managed low code solution development from discovery to release. I managed my own schedule, and delivered. Everyone loved me. We lost the contract.

There are 5 on my new team, butts in seats 8-5. My boss does not assign work, leads all engagements, and we "collaborate" ~20 hours a week watching him work on Teams. Everything is a fire drill and most meetings are random calls with no warning.

How do I approach him?

I have 20 years experience in Business Development, CRM, Operations Development, Onboarding, Staff Development, Proprietary Software administrator & trainer. This one is for folks on h1b visa. So at time when you have an offer in hand(not accepted the offer yet and h1b transfer process not yet begun) while you are working with your current employer, do you even speak to your employer about your new offer to see if they make a counter offer?
Is there a risk involved with this approach assuming your current employer doesn't provide you with a counter offer and they ask you to leave immediately (and your h1b visa hasn't been transferred either)

Should I specialize in Blockchain or AI? I’m a freshman in a CS degree and I can’t decide. My main argument to choose blockchain is the easy entry with little experience and high salary, I plan on growing my skills during the bear market and get a job once the market recovers. Regarding AI, I find this field fascinating but I feel like it requires a lot of experience, degrees and diplomas.

So i have been fortunate that i have managed to go through my career without the need for a degree. I was lucky enough to have been hired by one of the worlds top consulting firms, worked with a whole lot of big clients and travelled a lot. It's gotten to the point where I am not even asked about the lack of a degree on my resume. Personally though, it bothers me. I have a whole bunch of certifications in my industry…but just no formal degree. (cont'd)
