Serious question, understood 10 yr treasuries are going up quite a lot in percentage points but the economy is also expected to grow massively. What is causing this sea of red? Is it that treasuries are a safer play? Is it that it’s more expensive to borrow? If there’s concern of overinflation then how can it also be projected that there’s going to be a massive growth boom? TLDR - why should i sell?

Why does everyone expect stocks to only go up ?

Red is healthy !

like

I agree. I’m just wondering why

More expensive to borrow for margin to put in equity and for corporate debt. People will also start putting some money into risk free assets instead of stocks.

like

Most people already know the economy is going to grow this year duh! The red represents a rotation away from covid "stay at home" to spending on actual fun stuff. Oil sector has been great, so has PEJ

like

I think we're confusing growth with spending. There is going to be an increase in spending later this year. Growth is going to come but not at this rampant pace ppl expect

Expectation that the fed will stop its supportive funding soon.

Money printer no longer go brrrr

Yea but they’ll still keep the short term rates low. What’s the difference between the expectation and end of 2019.

Our district is so lax on the students this year. With tech issues and distance learning days, we’ve gone from accommodating to enabling real quick. No penalties for late work, taking excuses for attendance, lower academic and behavioral standards... We were beginning to make so much progress on transforming our school culture, but this year is erasing that and then some. Is anyone else concerned about how to raise the expectations and students’ self-discipline back to pre-enabling levels?

Had my virtual on-site for an S&O L3 role 3.5 weeks ago (NYC, 5 YOE). I haven’t heard back on a decision yet, and was wondering how long it typically takes? I also know that I was one of the very first candidates to interview for this specific role, and there are atleast 2 more people scheduled for onsites. Does the recruiter typically wait for all candidates to finish their onsites before communicating a decision? Or if I haven’t heard back yet, it’s probably a reject?

This is a very difficult time in the market so try to figure out what’s not working and fix it. Stick with your process while trying to improve it. I’m seeing lots of posts about really bad losses. If you trade you’re going to lose money - hopefully not all the time, but many positions will be mistakes. But you need a process to find ideas and manage positions. Two books you should read are “The New Trading for a Livinng” and “The Laws of Trading.” Both look at psychology, process, and risk in different ways that can help you work out your own process. The next 18 months will be much harder than the last 18 - time to start learning.
