Sfo to jfk. Delta has a Delta one class so obvious choice if you're ready to build status
I second this, LAX home base to JFK in D1 is ideal
Haven't done it in a while, so conditions might have changed, but I preferred LGA over the other two. EWR is way too far if you are going to Manhattan, and the commute from/to JFK was typically longer than the one from/to LGA. When I was flying, for me it was all about efficiency: how fast can I get to the airport, how fast can I clear security, how fast can I get to the gate. IMO LGA had the highest score in these 3 categories.
LGA isn’t really relevant because it does not have nonstop flights to the San Francisco Bay area, nor anywhere west of Denver. This is due to the LaGuardia perimeter rule.
Generally, Manhattan to either Newark or JFK to California will be faster than LaGuardia to the West Coast since LGA requires a connection in some place like ATL, CLT, ORD, DFW, etc to get to California, adding distance and time.
Delta only goes to JFK. United to Newark. You don’t really have a choice
Are you doing this as a weekly, red-eye commute? It also depends on where in NYC you are going to. JFK is kinda far and you will hit morning rush hour if you are taking a red eye. LGA is out of question - I don’t think there’s a direct flight. It think it comes down to your airline preference. As someone based in SFO, I’m handcuffed to United with a notable exception of Alaska. If United, your only option is EWR and with Alaska, you can fly into EWR or JFK.
I don't think LGA supports long haul flights. Farthest I've ever been able to go from there is Denver. It really depends also where you need to be.
I've done JFK-SFO in Delta. It's a long flight and not all flights have Delta one. (Lie flat) so be careful on the equipment
LGA’s perimeter rule prohibits west of Denver. If you want to go to LGA, you have to connect.
Another thought- not sure where you are, but delta also has a daily sjc-jfk flight and the one time i took that, had a whole row of economy+ to myself.
