Should I be considering assistant controller roles as an S3 in FAAS or should I shoot for controller?

Agree with EY1, Asst C or Asst Dir at a small public or private company would be a possible shot, normally they wouldn’t consider someone not at M level tho.

Depending on company size. For larger companies that have 1000+ ee globally, their controller is FAAS partners level. For smaller companies, senior or managers can shoot for controller. Sometime you might even need downgrade depending on which company you jump to.

Shoot for the stars. Take the job you can get lol

UPDATE (RE: SoCal Assistant Controller Interview)

So after two weeks of waiting (and giving up on the idea of getting the job really), the recruiter got back to me.

They said due to month-end and quarter-end close they were busy and couldn’t get back to me as quickly for a “good update”.

The recruiter said the CFO enjoyed our call, she, the CFO, will call me next week directly to “discuss some final things”.

Not sure if Im hired or not, but are there any questions about the job, comp (cont.)
