Should I switch from digital marketing to data science by pursuing an M.Tech from IIT/NIT?

I'm a 2024 B.Tech graduate working as a Paid Media Executive at Dentsu. In my 2 months here, I've noticed that many tasks are being automated by Meta and Google, and my company is developing AI and ML tools for further automation. I'm considering an M.Tech in data science or AI from a top college, as salaries in IT/data roles are higher—around 10-15 lakhs post-M.Tech compared to 7-8 lakhs in digital marketing after 2 years.

I'm a recent grad who accepted an entry-level full-time job offer with Capital One. I knew that MBB and other consulting firms rarely ever negotiate salary with new grads, so I didn't with Capital One as well. Was that a mistake? Generally curious how many companies offer phone reimbursement? My last gig did not but the current one does. Legally it seems, all employers are required to do so if we use our phone in literally any capacity (video call, slack, teams, emails etc). How prevalent is the issue of not reimbursing phone dues?
