Since big companies are making layoffs the norm now… do you ever consider it as a sign to steer away from working for corporations? It’s not stable and maybe we all just need to become self employed. Not easy, I know, but why work for companies that would drop you as they please and give you the stress of having to beg another company to hire you to continue paying for you lifestyle..

As of now I got into PIP so does it indirectly means that i will be fired.?

When you say your salary jumped __x, how is that exactly calculated?

Mine was $16k (minimum wage before joining corporate) > $40k (contractor total before getting laid off) > $150k (current FT)?

Is that a 260% jump or 2.6x from $16k to $40k?
And a 375% jump or 3.75x from $40k to $150k?

Or do I calculate it by hourly rate?

I think I’m going to be fired tomorrow morning and I am not even sad about it.
