Hardboil a dozen eggs Sunday , have 2 of those and a slice of avocado on sourdough toast. That’s like less than 50 cents per meal. Boatload of protein, fiber… you won’t be hungry til 1
I’ve found 50% off menus and under $10 meals at nice restaurants. You didn’t actually bother to look when you had no actual answer to share.
Your answer is 7-11… or any grocery store near your job:
To get the discount you’re looking for, get 711 points, apply the savings…..
Peanut butter, jelly, loaf of bread. 25 cents per day
You could also buy a pizza from 711, wrap up the slices.
You could eat dollar 7-11 big bites
When I was a jr, living in nyc, I instacarted a case of 24 cup of noodles for 10 bucks. And kept it under my desk… a month of lunch for 30 cents a day.
Not terrible. Just need to look a bit.
Make breakfast at home. Use the McDonald’s app for deals. Everything else is $$$.
Yeah, McDonald’s is even pricy af anymore.
I go to NYC, and I can get a fresh egg and cheese bagel for under $4 on almost every block.
I hate how expensive food has gotten in Chicago.
First of all, ew I’m so sorry.
Second, yeah everyone’s already said it: bringing stuff from home is the way to go, especially in the Loop.
OP cannot resist a response in an attempt to simply “be right” and it’s hilarious
My boy will leave you 2 and a half falafel in a Wendy’s napkin under the navy pier. Find it and it’s yours…..
Hey wanna meet up? I’ll give you half my bubba gump sandwich, for free 👍? It’s from July but it still smells like shrump
No cook, High fiber foods will stick with you longer and they’re not hard to find for cheap. For example: on Sunday night, prepare a marinade of olive oil, fig jam and pumpkin pie filling in a ziplock bag. Give the flavor time to mix, while waiting, go outside, get a few pinecones. Rinse them and pop into the marinade. Let sit . Not only will they provide roughage, but you’ll notice that you’ll feel full through the entire day.
Cheapest you can do it is to bring something from home. Been doing it for years.
There are plenty of Dunkin’s on Lake St. But they don’t freshly crack eggs. I’ve been sad All Day Breakfast at McDonald’s ended. There was a 2 for 1 discount for that too that also seems to have ended.
Are you near the Oasis Cafe ? So good.
Was a favorite! That whole strip was full of hidden gems. I miss the old Jewish Deli Ada Cafe. Massive portions.
What area ?
Loop
meal prep on the weekend- Spray mini muffin pan with pam, scramble egg, put on bacon/onion/etc bake and put in a ziplock. Combine with English Muffin or bagel from home.
Thanks. While I’m better off cooking at home as I’m actually great at cooking, I was looking for cheap spots to get food at.
Could be breakfast, lunch, happy hour, etc.
I found a few good deals on my own. Though it is definitely less than pre-Covid.
