McKinsey & Company How likely is McKinsey to rescind an offer if there's a recession/downturn before my start date? Received an Associate offer with a start date early in the Fall. But I'm worried about the offer being rescinded due to the ongoing McK scandals/issues and a potential recession in the making (which may prompt them to freeze hiring and/or renege offers).
Has this happened to anyone before at McKinsey, offer getting rescinded due to economic/company downturn? A bit worried

200k is very reasonable for a SM even given PwC structure ... you have 15 years of experience! Should also at least get 30k signing (min).
Disagree per my comment above and S&1’s comment.
I think you are aiming a little high, since SM at PwC is not like a typical SM at another big 4. We have a director title that is equivalent to SM at other big 4s. Our SM is like manager 3 at other big 4s so it is one level lower.
For IFS, that is likely too high. I recently had a screening for a Sr Manager role in IFS - Security and was told 150-170. 15 years exp for reference. What range did you tell the recruiter?
I didn’t tell any range yet but did share my current compensation
Everything I’ve heard says $200k is super high for IFS SM
Ask for what you think your value is
Nope, too high.
Ok :)
Absolutely. Really depends on your service line and area though, you’ll need to provide more details to truly answer it

For reference, I’m at $179k in a tier 2 geo, in our advanced degree cohort for MC Advisory. Bonus potential is up to 30% but would be lower in IFS.
I am in final round for EY manager role, if everything goes fine with both it will come to numbers.
Well they are two completely different roles.... Essentially “industry” as an internal employee or consulting.
PWC has something called cohort and they limit salary by levels. The highest level SM in T1 should be shy of 200k mark.
Thanks , we will see how it goes
