YoE - 10. Not sure about the job level yet. The recruiter has just sent me an "Offer review packet" spreadsheet to fill with salary expectations.
My two best current offers are:
- Prod sec engineering lead at an Eyecare giant - 57 LPA + 3.5 L joining bonus
- Lead sec engineer at a series D profitable HR tech startup - 60 LPA + 40 L ESOP vested over 4 years

Ask them if they have a range for the position. And ask about the total benefits package.
I don’t think that’s the right mentality.
You know how much you’re earning now, you know what the market value is for your experience and credentials, and you have a compensation expectation for the position you’re interviewing for.
You should go into the interview prepared to answer that question, and you should get it out of the way early in the process so you don’t waste your time or the company’s time.
