You should be applying elsewhere ASAP.

I would be actively applying and leave once you get an offer
Agree, but resume submission rarely works. Any other thoughts for the creative industry?
New job ASAP. Don't work too much without getting paid, they may default on any contract work post layoff. Ask for a severance. One or two weeks for every year you have been there.
SEM1 - Sounds like great advice. Thank you!
You most likely won’t be able to negotiate up.
Is this because of a merger? What’s the context?
Shoot, I'd apply elsewhere and hit them with the "you've lost x employees, my information is valuable, give me a portion of their salary and I'll stay on board and give my insight." If the company is tanking, don't go down with the ship unless you're investing.
You probably can't negotiate salary, but you may be able to negotiate a bonus or severance amount to stay on and provide your expertise for a certain amount of time.
Thanks. I’m going to investigate this.
Negotiate salary? Prolly not. Negotiate severance pay? Maybe
