I mean it’s only been three weeks. They could just want you to get some experience with calling too. Ask about the learning curve and how they plan to lay everything out to get you up to speed. If you don’t have experience with those things they may not feel comfortable throwing you in right away. Try not to be confrontational with you boss. Ask about the training plan and what the next 6 months will look like as you progress
Calling wasn’t on job description and I have been good at getting appointments set but im bored out of my mind and i can’t really go look for another job because I haven’t had much recent success.
Have you taken the SIE?
You’re aware that calling on warm leads or even cold calling is a huge part of the job, right? It may not be on the JD but clients don’t just walk in the door.
They probably aren’t going to throw you in the books that early. And if you don’t like making calls then FA won’t be for you. You need to work your way up to everything. The FA role is different these days - unless you are inheriting a book, you aren’t likely to make it unless you jump out there and recruit business like crazy (make calls).
