Kasowitz Benson - what is your opinion of them?
Helo everyone, I had an interview scheduled with Cognizant on last week of Jan 2022 but due to technical error in Verification code I couldn't join interview lobby. I reported the same to the HR and I was told the interview will be rescheduled. Now there's no update from the HR. Could you please guide me how can I proceed or any email address to which I can inform to take the rescheduling process further.
Thanks in advance

It is happening.
I was laid off yesterday for 'performance reasons' with above average feedback on LEAD and no prior discussions or warning signs - much less PIP
Same here. I was separated today and the reason I was given was that I was performing below my peers, but my YE review was the same as for the past 6 years and had good references. They are just using that to "trim the fat".
Believe it - it happened to me. No PIP and got laid off.
I'm so sorry to hear that! If it was a layoff and not a firing then that really is unfair as that would imply that you have no performance issues. Best of luck in finding a new job.
Wouldn’t it matter if you’re currently billable or not?
Interesting.

It could be the area you’re in. Sometimes if the area is struggling they’ll have to let even the good/average performers go, not just the bottom. It could be they also don’t see a future with some of these people. So they’re pushing them out faster.
There are also areas within EY that are more “top heavy with M’s and SMs.” So even though it might not be a purely performance based thing they’re cutting because there’s no room for so many people.
They’re also looking for cash so people with high salaries that aren’t pulling there weight will be looked at more harshly.
I saw this happen with a few of my friends at EY when I was there.
I'm in CBS and my job is purely tech based. Over the last month, one of the projects that I'm on had its budget slashed in half so my division is struggling
In addition to potentially having cut quotas by area, layoffs are also usually based on improving short-term cash flow so performance doesn’t always tie directly into the equation — they’re looking to cut expensive people, not poor performers (although of course there can be overlap).

Why were you placed on a PIP?
I mean, I actually kind of get it. You can’t break policy like that, especially if you are in an internal role in this economy. It shows a lot of maturity by you to admit and learn from it. From that perspective, I hope this works out for you. Just keep in mind that if it does, you are the exception and not the norm these days.
