So, I worked two years in a law firm and then these last two years I’ve been doing freelancing atty work bc situations in my life required me to have more flexibility. I am now looking for a full time salaried role. How hard is it going to be for me to find a job?

Returning to full time work is totally possible. The key thing is you have been using your legal skills through your break.

Look at returnships and other programs for attorneys who have had a break in employment. Also, apply directly to law firms. Your contract roles may also lead to full time work, or can help you build references and find out about openings.

What kind of law do you practice and where are you located?

You may have luck with employment law in NY! I am in that field and know that both plaintiff and defendant firms are desperate for associates right now and a decent amount of listings I’ve seen on LinkedIn are remote.

I guess the added layer of difficulty is that I’m barred in NY but am now located in FL and need a remote position. Planning to take the July FL Bar too.

How do you platform freelance work? Interested

What do you mean by how do I platform?

I received an email from the HR at Monitor Deloitte that I've cleared the case round and a back to back discussion with partner and director of the team will be scheduled. Been almost 3 days since this email, haven't received asking for availability from the scheduling team. This for a role with their Lifesciences Strategy practice in the UK. How long do they typically take to schedule the final round of discussions? Do they eliminate candidates in this round?

Customer Success Managers!: I’m a well-educated service industry professional (BA and MA) trying to transition to CS. I’m having a hard time gaining traction and want to know if you have advice for landing entry level CS jobs. (Not resume advice, I’ve done my research.) I want to know more about getting my foot in the door and getting the necessary experience. Seems like most places want years of experience in the role and it’s hard to find places that will take someone hopping across industries

I’m new to freelancing, at a senior level and in NYC. Can anyone give me a range of what day rate would be appropriate to charge? Thank you!!

Finished my loop for a marketing role 2 weeks ago, and got an email the next day that they wanted to give me an offer. Had my initial call with recruiter to put the offer together. It was lower than I expected, and we ended that call positively as I needed some time to consider, and we agreed to follow up in a few days. It’s now been a week and both recruiters have been unresponsive. Did I just lose this offer bc I tried to negotiate a more equitable comp pack, or is it a slow process?

So I work as an assistant manager at a restaurant for the past 9 months. I've worked in restaurants for the past 6 years science I was 16. Now I'm 22. I went to a trade school for media and film. I got a dream opportunity to work in the field making about the same or 10% more. I told myself the only reason I'd leave this company is for this type of job. Should I take the chance at this job and leave the restaurant that is on the rise and growing?
