If God doesn’t have a plan for us, then what about Jeremiah 29:11?
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Jeremiah 29:11 still rings true today. The Bible talks about the spiritual wealth that comes with knowing and understanding Gods word. Our hope is in Jesus Christ and our future is eternal life. As believers, our focus shouldn’t be on worldly desires but on things above. Each day I have to remind myself God never promised for my life to unravel the way I want it to and I pray for Gods will to be done here on earth (which includes me). My life not going as expected doesn’t mean God doesn’t have a plan for my life but that my plans aren’t aligning with his and honestly, we should be content with our daily bread.
Usually when people say “God has something better in store for you”, an individual didn’t get what they want from a worldly perspective - job, relationship, money, etc. However, from a spiritual standpoint, I look forward to dwelling with God once again. Isn’t that what we should look forward to more than anything? Hope this makes sense ❤️
Sharing a piece of my story. I trust God with my relationships so knocked on doors [read: online dated etc etc] until a wonderful one opened. I say this to encourage that everyone has a different journey when they follow Jesus. The goal though is the same- Him.
I think that He has a divine will, but He won’t interfere in your life by force; only if you ask Him to step in and direct your path
Thank you D1

What do you mean “if God doesn’t have a plan for you?”
I personally DO think God has a predetermined plan for us based on what I know in His word. This is called God’s will for us. His perfect will is his plan and purpose for us. The difference is in the fulfillment of His will. This is mostly impacted by our free will as you mentioned and a variety of other things. He can reveal his plan and purpose for us, guide us, speak to us and so on but it is completely possible to ignore or not choose that path based on our actions. Nonetheless, I don’t think that takes away from God’s original intent, plan , or purpose for our lives. Topics of this nature are very complex to understand but we have a chance understand it more fully through the Holy Spirit and His word.
