You're doubling over your salary?!
Doesn't hurt to interview IMO. It'll also be good practice for you. Only question: Have you signed an offer already? Bc backtracking on a signed offer could be difficult
If you get it, are you prepared to leave and burn bridges at your new place?
I mean 90 day eval period is mutual right? And yes I did. I was grossly underpaid. Also if I interview, do I disclose the other offers I had.
100%?! Where you you working and getting paid at what level? And where you off to?
I have but the contract is at will so I can walk anytime
I might try to take the ethical road, and inform them that I committed to another firm and that I don't think it would be appropriate for me to interview for an immediate opportunity. However I would be interested in interviewing to understand Deloitte more and keep in touch for future opportunities. What do you think?
Not sharing those details, but big non-big4 to another large non-big4, and now a big4 target firm wants to do interviews. I declined a big4 offer to go to the firm I'm set to start at.
Is this slimy to do?
If it's an evaluation period, are you a contractor? If so, probably OK, but will leave a bad taste
In my opinion, you would be playing a risky game. If you have already formally accepted the offer, you should honor your commitment, even from a selfish perspective, because you don't want to burn bridges in this business ever. Also, you were making this move because it was compelling economically, and also (presumably) good from a career perspective. If you're target firm learns that you are dancing with them while having committed elsewhere (or if you tell the target firm directly), then they may view you as a job hopper and as someone who doesn't honor commitments.
There is a saying that there is "many a slip between cup and lip." I wouldn't recommend risking losing both the new offer and the potential opportunity with the target firm. Just my $. 02
Thanks! I'm not a hopper. I see it as an Unfortunate circumstance that my top firm got back to me late. I made my decision to leave based on economics and professional growth.
Disclosed that my target firm has been Deloitte, I am joining Accenture and leaving Booz allen
