Asking to the Indian folks, for the ones laid off or having issues and having to go back home, how is the job market currently in India? Any of you tried looking around?
Can we get more information regarding ET layoffs? I don't think we have enough info here, need more. Have friends at EY, concerned for them.
Hi All. Recently got laid off here in Chicago. Trying to network with other people from other firms. I was wondering if any consultants in Chicago would like to meet up sometime? Thank You.
To those of you who were laid off- would you consider taking a job at a lower level? Do you think this is career suicide?
The more pedestrian your intellect, the better fit you are at D Heard of a colleague with an FRM charter being laid off today. Overall excellent person. And you won't believe who they promote year after year.. the character, curiosity and quality of the lifers Don't join this firm if you for a love of learning and to be inspired. Join if you are a middling who wants a good brand to hack ahead in life and rise above your station
Are Deloitte layoffs over after tomorrow? S&O just let go 10-15% of the work force. More to come?
Staff sent out paper AR confirms and got them back. Manager saw them and asked why their wasn't fold marks. Turns out staff forged signatures cause he didn't send them. Partner came out and fired him!
If my firm mandates the vaccine and I don’t provide proof, do they have to pay me severance when they fire me? FULL DISCLOSURE: I’m vaccinated, I just don’t want to work here anymore and I would like some extra $$$ 😂😂😂😂
Got laid off. Not completely unexpected but still stings. Everything on the table but difficult to decide path forward. Been doing this so long I never considered anything else. How do you prioritize?
Should I take a 15% pay cut and leave Accenture for industry? Or wait it out to find a better paying opportunity? Worried about chargeability and layoffs, hate the process of getting staffed. Wondering if it's worth it though for such a big drop.
Why shouldn’t same standards apply if you threaten to resign - irrespective of your race or gender or the type of research you do. Pretty sure I’d get fired if I used “threaten to resign” as my mode to get something
I got laid off today and need a new job asap. Would love to connect with anyone looking for a junior writer.
These are the threads we should frame and hang in all agency lobbies instead! "Just got laid off. Just found out I’m pregnant. Someone say it’s going to be okay, because that seem..." See full post https://joinfishbowl.com/post_2r395j
I got fired from Facebook in 2013 and then got a better job at Google (five years now). I want to go back to Facebook, but I'm not sure if they'd consider me again, or if it's even less likely.
I was due for a promotion but then covid hit, and during the peak of layoffs/furloughs, I was given the run-around that we have agency wide promotion freezes, etc. Over the past month, a handful of people have been promoted. I know everyone's situation is different but I can't help feeling snubbed. How do I know whether they are genuinely trying to promote me and can't, versus them stringing me along for as long as possible? I dont want it to come to having to bring another offer to the table..
If you get fired from Deloitte (or similar), what would they say in a background check? Would they say “would not rehire” or something like that? Anyone have any issues with this?
anyone in DFW area?
On the Plane Train at ATL airport, "Next stop is for D gates, D as in demon"...uhhhh what?!
Do all therapists use the line, “I’m not taking any new patients at this time.” When they don’t want to see someone?! I found someone who would be perfect and got that line. Seems like I’ve gotten that line every time I’ve reached out to a counselor… has anyone successfully gotten past that barrier? Do they not want to take on someone who has insurance and would rather get the full bill rate in cash?
Anyone have insight into the compensation range for a “Strategy Insights & Planning Associate Consultant” role at ZS?
How does on get global services on United. Anyone figure out the threshold yet? Based on experience, it's not miles. If it's spend, and Platinum is $12K PQD, maybe it's $20K PQD?
What's your go-to lesson?
Anyone fly Delta with ORD as their home base? I realize I may need to take connections but is this worth it? Lost EP last year, status matched to Platinum with Delta if having status matters
Is 120k an acceptable salary for Dallas, Texas? I’m taking a pay cut to move there from San Francisco
So I got an offer for a Consulting-Manager role for approx $150K. Is that a good deal? It looks ok when I check in Glassdoor and the likes, but just wanted to see what the group here says.
TFW your parents say they don't know where you live so you book them into a Westin on points. Welcome home, mom and dad
Does anyone else feel FOMO when you receive recruiter emails or calls even though you have no intention of leaving your current role any time soon?
Survived the layoffs on friday-but still shook up from seeing a bunch of my friends get walked out all around me. When a layoff happens should I be updating my resume/looking to get off the ship?
If you get some development points and a partially at level in your third year, are you screwed for promotion?
How normal is it to be pulled off a trial team because you tell your boss you are moving after trial? I have a trial coming up first week of Oct. This case has been my baby, and I’m going to try it with my boss. I tell my boss up front that, for family reasons, I’ve gotten a new job and will be moving to another city two weeks after trial will likely end. He then gives my trial witnesses to another attorney, but is still going to make me do grunt work. Is he unreasonable or am I?
Does having a “veteran” designator play any part in the promotion advancement or internal growth? Haven’t seen a lot of ex-military in the firms.
Curious to know what associate/consultant level compensation is in MBB or Big 4 in 2 locations: Tokyo vs Singapore
What do you look for when interviewing a junior associate (2-3 year) for an in-house associate counsel position? What are your expectations with respect to substantive knowledge? I have some interviews for associate counsel positions at some later-stage startup tech firms and would love some advice on how to stand out from all the other biglaw junior associates.
