Do you find yourself thinking about ways to improve your lessons as you experience life? I’m on vacation for the first time in 10 years and I keep asking myself “wow, what kind of technology is that?” And “How can I integrate that in my Computer Technology class?”

Did anyone else adopt the new Florida Wonders curriculum? We just adopted it this school year, and I teach 4th grade. My team and I have not found a good flow, schedule, or whatever you want to call it. We feel like it teaches too many skills in one lesson, and we are not able to truly teach anything “deep” enough for students to master. Does anyone have any insight? What do you do? Do you like the curriculum? Why or why not? Would you be willing to share what you do weekly/daily? Thanks!

I told myself I would not be that person who quits during busy season but I am reaching my limit with PA. My mental health has been in shambles for years and I have found the years passing by with me doing nothing but work. I am anxious all the time even when on PTO, and I'm so close to just quitting with nothing lined up to take a mental break. Just wanted to rant.

GCA Questions Help

Hi everyone!
I've had 2 rounds of interviews at Google (UK) for a non-tech role in Platforms & Ecosystems (L4/L5). Recruiter told me that I've been selected for the final rounds (GCA + Leadership Interview). From his feedback, one thing they wanted me to improve on was the GCA Questions. Would anyone have any tips on how to prepare for these? I've checked some of Jeff Sipe videos online but would appreciate any support! I find GCA quite stressful...

Hi everyone! My names Diana & as a new account manager I’m having a hard time building up my clientele, it seems a lot of companies aren’t up for as much contract work as there used to be. Any tips or companies you may know that would be good to go after? I work for a technical recruiting company and we specialize in contract (otherwise things would be a lot easier) please reach out!

This summer I will be teaching the two courses required to gain the extension certificate to be a New York State certified Work-based Learning Coordinator. Is there a requirement for additional training to become a WBLC in your location? Is it part of an existing CTE teacher’s responsibility or something else? Do you need a WBLC for your program approval?

Class size is a big deal, in NY a new piece of legislation was signed to bring down student count per class from 34 to 25 over the next few years. How big are your CTE classes? In NYC, they’re typically about 28 students.

When providing future advice to your scholars, what type(s) of pathways do you layout?

Does your school have a CTE inclusive Orientation? Is it stand-alone, an exploratory course, or something else?

When you come back to school, are you expecting any staffing changes? Is that a good or bad thing? Do you think it should be addressed as a message from school administrators?

I have a unique challenge right now in my class. I teach hand drafting in my class and the sanitizer and sprays they are using is making the tape not stick, has anyone to run into this and does anyone have any suggestions? We have found if we wipe the table down with multiple kinds of cleaner in soap and let it dry well that it will stick better but this is a huge time consumer as we transition between classes.

Do you know what a CLNA is? The Comprehensive Local Needs Assessment is a tool for determining CTE Program design/accountability for Perkins V. Who’s responsibility is it in your district? Has it helped at all?

My concern is that here in Indiana, I have taught in 3 different districts over 21 years in traditional high schools & have not ever had a student teacher or Practicum observer in my computer lab classroom. The last school I left for my current career center dropped the computer science courses I spent 10 years building and refining all together. No qualified CTE teachers available. 🤷‍♂️

Hi! I am currently an Early Childhood Teacher, but I am interested in becoming an Early Childhood Education instructor at a technical high school.
