So this just happened to me and I want to ask you guys what you think. Part of my new contract was a signing bonus but as part of getting this new job I also had to get a new visa which ended up taking 6 months. Because of the processing time, my start date got postponed four times and every time I had to sign a new contract. Today I received my first paycheck including the signing bonus but it's multiplied by 4 because I signed (the same) contract 4 times I guess. Is this legit?

Wanted to bring out that staff-1's are paid peanuts (3.33L CTC) please don't expect them to slog 12-13 hours. They don't have enough motivation or incentives to work that long. Seniors,AM's and Managers should be more kind and explain the work to them clearly rather than making last minute changes.

Not NYC but in a market that was recently bumped up to the previous Cravath scale market. Base is obviously set. What should I expect / negotiate for signing bonus, year-end bonus eligibility, special bonus eligibility, etc.? Any other negotiation considerations? I would say leverage is on my side considerably.

I love teaching art but am having to teach remotely to 1150 kids, k - 5. Have about 54 amazing elementary art teachers in my district that share SO much! I’m getting a new job in LA as UI Designer after a several months of search. I would have to move, is 80-90k enough for the cost of living there? And how would I negotiate for a higher offer, if that is their stated range? Not sure if it matters, but they have 2-3 other designers in the company.
