I used Aetna when I lived in Denver and never had any issues finding in-network providers. I am not familiar with Anthem so can’t speak to them, but would recommend Aetna.
It depends on what you're looking for. Anthem nationally provides a wider network with more access but if you're in a more populated area, access may be the same. Each network also offers a more narrow selection or providers with better outcomes. Plans save money on these networks but i haven't seen comparison of access between the two for narrow networks.
Anthem is great
This depends on the plan so much. Please look into specific plans not just at the companies
Also, if you're comparing discounts, make sure you look at the bottom line and not just the depth of the discount. While some networks show a deeper discount, the starting off point may be different between health systems and providers.
Both very specific notes you can take to HR/your. Benefits team to help you understand coverage for both. Employers are covering more fertility benefits lately, and they will likely be savvy in speaking to the coverage because it draws in talent.
I have Anthem and it’s good. To A1’s point, though, definitely check pricing if you’re not on a HDHP that pays 100% after you hit the deductible because there can be a huge difference.
Hugely depends on the plan. In terms of network though, both have a lot of options in Denver. I’ve had both here and never have a problem finding someone that accepts my insurance.
Aetna has been good to me here. I use UC Health for most of my primary and specialty care and it’s been in-network.
