Hello all,
Would like to know specifically about Queer inclusion at SocGen Societe Generale. What is the attitude of mangers and HRs towards treating LGBTQ identifying candidates? Is company really inclusive or it’s just a lip service? Considering an offer with the company but being an out and proud Queer woman, super anxious and concerned.

If you think answering those questions will prevent you from being considered just create 10 versions of your resume and have 2 of them answer the question and have 8 of them not. If only your 2 get selected for an interview then you have cause to sue.
However I don’t think companies will pass you up for not answering. I never answer them and have had a decent rate of people interviewing me versus not.
I just fill them out honestly. They are going to find out eventually anyway.
I fill out the application completely. My name and last names are very obvious non-English names. If they’re not going to hire me simply based on my race and gender, I don’t really want to work there. Organizations should be performance-based culture, not some bs preferred race/gender culture.
These questions are intended to collect data related to equal opportunity. Essentially, if the company were to receive an EO complaint, they would be required to provide this data to prove they have not been discriminatory in hiring practices. The data collected is not made available to hiring managers, so in theory it shouldn't impact your chances of getting a role. With that said, I've never been a fan of collecting the info at application because it infers the potential for discrimination, even if that's what it's trying to combat. Good in theory, not great in practice.
I struggle with this every time I come to these questions. As far as the ATS goes, I would guess a company having theirs set up to pass or move on with candidates based solely on those answers, would be quite the issue. I have been looking up ways to format my resume for ATS to be able to read it.
I have always answered these questions but it’s never been an issue for me. I am a woman so sometimes I wonder if that is harmful, but my name is very feminine so that on my resumes let’s them know I’m female so I just fill that out because there’s no way for me to hide it
If the questions are optional, I leave them blank. If they are required, I select ‘choose not to supply’ or ‘other’ depending on the options presented.
